Lamia Bazir got the opportunity to conduct research and analysis on the impediments that prevent women from engaging in the fight against corruption.
Together with her colleague Aura Martinez, she visited Niger and worked jointly with Transparency International’s section in Niamey to understand how women are impacted by corruption and what prevents them from reporting and fighting it.
They interviewed official stakeholders as well as civil society actors, and rural communities. They also met the 30 historical female leaders of the country, among which the first woman journalist of Niger, and the first woman president of the constitutional court of the country.
