On November 27, 2016, 104 women from margianlized villages in the Middle Atlas mountains were gathered for the launch of “Empowering Women in the Atlas”.
This launching ceremony was the occasion to present this one-year program providing women with trainings, Equipment, connections, and funding. This event was also an exceptional occasion to break the barriers of islation of these women enabling them to gather, meet each other, network, share their projects and visions, and grow together.
The founder Lamia Bazir recalled the values of equal opportunities driving this project and the importance of overcoming geographic and monetary constraints, and investing in rural women and girls’ potentialities for the development of Morocco. She also thanked the partners of this project, namely the US Middle East Partnership Program as well as the Hilary Clinton Women’s Empowerment Center and Al Akhawayn University.
